Wedding Trends :: The Bow Updo

The most important look in terms of beauty and style {aside for the day you accept your first Academy Award} will be the beauty look you chose for your wedding day.  Will you go for a glamorous makeup look or a more natural look? Will you wear your hair natural or straight?  Up or down? Lip-gloss or lipstick? So many decisions! Whether it bothers you or not, my darling bride, all eyes will be on you from the moment you start your walk down the wedding aisle until the end of the night when you make your exit for your honeymoon getaway. With so many makeup and hair choices I advise you pick a style that you are comfortable with and one that fits your style and works with your dress.

Wedding trends whether beauty or fashion related catch on like fire thanks to wedding blogs and periodicals. Lately I have been seeing the bow updo everywhere and it seems to be gaining popularity.  Perhaps this hairstyle has been made even more popular with the amount of wedding dresses that featured bow embellishments at the latest Bridal Market last month in New York City. Many wedding dress designers used bows as accents on the dresses in the wedding collections they presented. Could this trend be fueled even more so by the dresses? Time will tell but I think so!

There are many ways to wear this popular hairstyle. To me the lower it is and closer to the nape of the neck, the more elegant of a look it takes on. When worn high on the head, it might be best suited for a whimsical bride or a bride whose wedding theme has a  fun retro 1950’s vibe, For the boho-chic bride a half up, half down hairstyle is perfect with cascading waves left to fall on the back. There are so many different ways to wear this hairstyle. If it’s a bit too cutesy for you, it may be perfect for your flower girls.  What are your thoughts on this wedding hair trend? Is it a bridal hit or miss?
