Bridal week is over and although I did not attend, I did keep a close eye on all the beauty that was streaming in my inbox from the various PR firms for the designers they represent. Social media was also good on filling me in with on the spot reporting. Gorgeous gowns were to be found at every show and with every walk down the runway there were trends that were evident. Cropped tops appeared once again, pant suits seemed to be a favorite, and then there was the most beautiful trend of all, in my opinion, a hint of color. The collection by Monique Lhuillier was ever so lovely with the traditional bridal colors but with shades of lavender, mint, peach, and gold it was hard not to swoon over this collection. Appealing to the romantic dreams of the little girl in every bride, the designer’s inspiration was made quite clear at the beginning of the show. A dancing ballerina reminiscent of one pirouetting in a young girl’s jewelry box set the tone for the gorgeous dresses to follow. Cropped tops, crisscross backs, and a teal length dress with white-and-nude re-embroidered lace was part of the ready to wear pieces in the collection. Timeless silhouettes with floral embellishments, and gorgeous lace made this collection a standout among the many collections during bridal week.
