As a big fan of Elle Décor, I could not wait to see what the hands and uber creative mind of Kelly Wearstler turned Cameron Diaz’s Manhattan’s West Village pied-a-terre into. OK maybe it’s not a pied-a-terre at 2400 square feet but I love the French language and it does mean a temporary living space or second home. With this jet setting star I am sure this is not her only or permanent residence. I digress…peeking inside celebrity homes allows us a true glimpse of their style or lack thereof {just being honest!}. Cameron & Kelly made an amazing team. This apartment is simply stunning.
Kelly Wearstler is known for creating glamorously beautiful spaces for clients like Gwen Stefani, and Hollywood Regency styled Viceroy Hotel in Santa Barbara,. She is the“presiding grande dame of West Coast interior design.” according the New Yorker and clearly translates West Coast design on either coast…in an organic and effortless manner. Not easy for many interior designers.
There is not much that I can find fault with in Ms. Diaz’s West Village flat but I do have favorite rooms. Undoubtedly the kitchen with its emerald green cabinets caused me to say ‘Wow!” out loud and the un-lacquered brass backsplash and black stained cerused floors gave the kitchen an uncommon touch of understated glam.I’ll let you judge for yourself…oh and that bathroom! Need I say more? Take a look…
