Good day darlings! How was your weekend? The weather here on the coast of northern San Diego turned from cloudy to sunny and then sunny to cloudy throughout the weekend. Our weekend was cut a bit short since Mr. G. was headed to a business trip to a much colder part of our nation on Sunday. Before he left to catch his flight, and while I caught a few more minutes much needed sleep, he made his famous banana vanilla pancakes which we shared as we made plans for our week ahead. With plans in place and bellies full, we said our goodbyes. After Jake and I watched Mr. G’s car slowly disappear in the distance we raced each other to the couch for the best spot and settled in for what proved to be a quiet and relaxing day of simple bliss. I hope bliss was part of your Sunday, too!

Today’s wedding inspiration board is an actual concept board for an At First Blush & Co. spring 2013 wedding. The wedding will take place at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in La Jolla. This couple wants their wedding day to have modern feel but would also like to add some intimacy into the day by sharing their love of classic literary works into the design. The wedding day palette is charcoal, black and white, with pops of yellow. The bouquets and the ceremony’s floral decor will be created with white phalaenopsis, peonies, ranunculus, and roses. Fun crespedia boutonnieres will be worn by the men to complement their gray suits. Monochromatic floral arrangements mixed with literary elements like books, pages, and quotes from their favorite authors will complement the charcoal gray linen at the reception. I cannot wait to share the decor images of this wedding with you! With Blush Botanicals as their floral designer, Joie La La Photographie capturing the memories, and yours truly creating the lovely details we know it will be a gorgeous wedding day!
