Cake & Details :: Pantone Nectarine & Dusk Blue

Last week on Inside the Lovely, I showed you here how the 2013 Pantone Colors can inspire your wedding day palette and how well they work with one another. It should be no wonder because all of the chosen 2013 colors can be found in nature…and we all know nature is the ultimate source of inspiration. Today I will begin to share with you ten different Cake & Details Inspiration to highlight the various Pantone colors of the year, separately. Each board will have a different color and design with tips to inspire you… at least that is what I set out to do! Today I picked Nectarine and Dusk Blue.

Pantone’s Nectarine reminds me of a late spring or early summer wedding when the breezes are still cool allowing you and your guests to comfortably enjoy your entire wedding day al fresco. The elements of this board represent my love of pairing rustic touches with contemporary elements to create a setting that seamlessly blends and highlights the two. Incorporating seasonal fruits in the décor as shown in the cake and reception table below, is an easy way to incorporate what I call the must haves of every wedding. Color taste, texture, and design should be part of your guests wedding day experience. A wedding becomes truly memorable when all the senses are perfectly engaged. {Tweet to share this little piece of advice!}

Pantone’s 2013 color, Dusk Blue, also brings to mind an outdoor fete only this time old world elegance and romance is mixed with modern simplicity. I love the clean lines and  typography of modern  wedding invitations especially when unexpectedly paired with old world elements. Lovely patina aged urns and chalices are softened and made romantic when filled with pastel blue blooms. Scour your local vintage markets for beautiful Venetian trays or rent them. They can be used to highlight served signature drinks drinks, a cake, and/or hors d’oeuvres. They can also be creatively used as part of the centerpiece design for your reception tables. I have the perfect idea in mind…but that I will share with you at a much later date…

Next week I will share a few more Pantone Cake & Details boards. Hope these boards bring a little bit of lovely to your day! XO
