Your wedding invitation will be the first impression your guests receive from you that will give them a precursor of your wedding day. It can tell a guest if your wedding will be glamorous, bohemian, classic, traditional, modern or minimalist. Paper whether it is a wedding invitation or your personal stationery, says a lot about your wedding day and your style even after that wonderful day has passed.
I put a lot of emphasis on details as a wedding designer and paper is one of the first details that I educate my couples on. It really makes the very first impression, and first impressions, even when received through the mail is important and lasting. I can tell that I’ve received invitations to beautiful events that I had no intention of going to but because of the invite I wanted to see the design of the event. If I received a wedding invitation created by Bliss & Bone you can believe mine will be the first RSVP received.
I came across Bliss & Bone this weekend. I was totally and utterly smitten and shared their website link with a fellow paper lover and she instantly said “I know why you like their work it’s totally your style.” It’s not even fair to call these works of art “invitation”. Each design is carefully crafted by my new friend {I had to email Bliss & Bone the very minute I saw these invites} designer and creator of Bliss & Bone Cindy Phillips Skanderup and checked, and checked and checked again by her hawk eyed husband Carl.
Every suite is complete with the Foundation {no pieces are sold separately}, theEssentials and the Frills and the creation of a wedding website {click to take a look at a sample wedding website it in its gorgeousness!} so that you have a cohesive and seamless look from beginning to end. In the Devoir Collection{one of my favorites} the place card is a “petite glass bottle” {see last set of images} and the actual wedding invitation is scripted in a gorgeous font embellished with a white wax seal, and what appears to be a fishnet.
Aside from loving Cindy’s work, I love how they describe their future client because this is how I also have described mine….
“WHO YOU ARE
Strong. Unique. Expressive. Opinionated. Experienced. Well-dressed. Demanding. Gorgeous. Imaginative. Artistic. Hopelessly romantic. Classic. Best friend. Well-traveled. Social. Perfectionist. Witty. Empirical.
Ridiculously and historically hard to please.”
They forgot one thing…client of the most creative wedding invitation designer Naomi knows. XO
