Good day lovelies! Did you have a great weekend? I hope you did. Ready for some Pantone inspired wedding colors? Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite parts of my job as an event designer….and that is helping my couples find their color story. I always ask that before they hastily pick colors or go with the latest wedding color trends, to think outside the box and look away from the obvious to be inspired. For example, a favorite museum painting, the color of the sky before the sun sets, the color of spices at your local farmer’s market… all can inspire your wedding color story. I have been inspired by books, even the notes a brides favorite perfume. Think of what moves you and let it!
Monaco Blue, Emerald, Grayed Jade and Tender Shoots.

- Define your wedding style. Are you a glamorous, preppy or nature loving couple? Defining your style will narrow down the design of your wedding and makes it easier to pick your wedding day colors.
- When deciding on the colors you for your wedding it is important to consider the venue, if you have one in mind. Visit the venue first; there is no sense in clashing with you reception room if the walls and carpet are gray and yellow and you wedding color choices are nectarine and poppy red.
- Remember to consider the season, too. For example autumn lends itself to warmer colors, and spring is when softer pastels or brighter colors are used. However, as a firm believer in breaking of some wedding rules, find your happy!
- Try not to be too matchy- matchy. I suggest that you choose three or four colors whether they are complementary {opposite each other on the color wheel}, analogous {lie next to each other on the color wheel} or monochromatic {varied hues of the same color} and use them in different areas. For example if your colors are African violet and lemon zest, add another color like tender shoots to the palette that will be introduced in the reception room.
