Real Wedding :: Parque da Penha, Portugal

I am so excited to share a beautiful wedding with you on my first day back to the blogging world! I’ve missed my friends and I’m happy to be back! Now let’s get right to the lovely…

This wedding comes to us from two very talented people, Sofia and André. They are the amazing event styling and photography team known as Branco Prata. If you’ve never heard of them before you must have been 1) hibernating for a few years or 2) you are new to the international wedding community. Whatever the reasons may be, you are in for some gorgeous eye candy.

I could not think of a better way to start the first day of October than with this magical wedding set in the woods near Guimarães, Parque da Penha, Portugal. The light mist that veiled the surrounding woods was perfectly captured by photographer André Teixeira.

Here’s what Brancoprata said about Alexandra and António’s wedding day:

Alexandra and António were probably the first wedding we booked for 2012… Alexandra’s sister got married last year and she told us that Alexandra wanted to book us for her wedding…with more than a year and a half in advance! Their goal was to create an intimate, romantic but very elegant wedding!

It was the beginning of June but it was a cold, rainy day… but don’t be fooled! Alexandra and Antonio’s smile, warmed up our hearts the entire day!

The ceremony was held at Montariol Monastery and in the end guests showered the couple with petals and bubbles! To celebrate this moment they also released dozens of white balloons! After the ceremony they headed to a beautiful venue near Guimarães, Parque da Penha.

During cocktail hour a mist went up and the scenery become even more mystical and romantic… it was the perfect time to take portraits 0f the happy couple!!

Dinner was served in an old tennis court transformed into a beautiful room filled with candles, fresh flowers, and olive trees ( and yes, every other centerpiece was a huge olive tree!!). After dinner Alexandra and António cut the wedding cake and a spectacular fireworks emerged behind them… an epic moment, for sure! Guests dance the night away and at the end of the celebration were sent home with a beautiful plant with the note: “May the memory of this day continues to grow!”
