Happy Thursday lovelies! Yesterday’s post on “Celebrity Homes” we peeked inside Cameron Diaz’s glamorous West Village in Manhattan {I still am swooning over that kitchen!} and today we are going to take a peek inside the home of supermodel Gisele Bündchen and her superstar quarterback husband Tom Brady’s eco conscious Los Angeles home.
In 2008 the power couple purchased a parcel of land in the prestigious Brentwood area of Los Angeles with views of the Pacific Ocean. A plan for a home was drafted, then later amended to create an even larger home than the couple initially intended. Five years in the making, Gisele and Tom’s $20 million dollar home is finally complete and what a home it is! Complete with a moat and super-sized personal gym, the house is also eco-conscious and as sustainable as it can be.
In her interview with Architectural Digest, Gisele states that ninety percent of the materials used to build their dream home were reclaimed. She also goes on to state that the larger window in the home allow for natural light to be used longer rather which allows the lights to stay off until sundown. Low voltage high-efficiency LED lights were used and motion sensors were installed in some of the rooms {great idea!}. The family also had a space for compost made. Leftovers and waste goes into the compost or to the chickens the couple have on their land. Photovoltaic solar panels were also installed on the roof of the home and next to the garden that meets the electrical needs of their family home.
So what rooms do I love the most? I’m again a kitchen and bath lover, and both in this home are lovely. Although this home is a mansion it seems family friendly {dare I say cozy?} and perfectly suited for this normal celebrity couple and their children. What do you think? xo
