A few days ago a bride asked, after reading the first Fragrant Friday post, {thank you!} what perfume would I suggest for her wedding day scent. Picking a scent is like allowing a stranger to pick your wedding dress. It is a personal thing especially since perfume reacts to everyone’s body chemistry differently. What may smell like a field of lavender to some may smell like the worst thing in the world to another. Picking a fragrance for your wedding day may not be on the top of your “wedding to do list” but it should not be overlooked. The fragrance chosen for your wedding day, when worn in the future can, bring to mind the most beautiful memories of that day. It is said that scent is our strongest sense tied to memory; make that memory a special one for both of you by choosing a fragrance you’ll always love.
In 2011 the House of Cartier released the fragrance ‘Baiser Volé d’Amour’ which is French for ‘Stolen Kiss’. The minute you experience this fragrance you will know that it is something quite special and nothing like the house’s previous scents. I purchased a bottle of ‘Baiser Volé d’Amour’ on a trip to Europe and ever since then it has become a staple in my fragrance wardrobe.
If I were to explain this scent to you it would be a fresh green floral {top note lily leaves, middle the flower, and the base is the pistil} with a powdery finish. I usually find the scent of lilies a bit too strong however it dried down to a warm vanilla scent that was sophisticated, beautiful and clean. This scent was not at all overpowering and lasts the entire day which makes it the perfect fragrance choice for a bride’s wedding day. It is simply lovely!
Isn’t the bottle just charming with the gold engraving of Rue de la Paix in Paris? Though the fragrance has been out since 2011 and has remained the same this limited edition bottle is available now at Nordstrom. Tell me if you have this fragrance or tried it. What were your thoughts? xo
Sounds heavenly!
